Singles Survey on Dating and PoliticsBoth Men And Women Ignore The Topic Of Politics On A First DateAccording to It’s Just Lunch, the premier dating service for busy professionals, who conducted a survey of 5,042 U.S. singles, 49% of singles would rather go on a date with President George W. Bush than his opponents. 1/3 of singles would rather spend a Friday night on a date with John Kerry and only 15% would go on a date with Ralph Nadar. When asked which presidential candidate was more charming, George W. Bush had 54% of the votes, John Kerry 40% and only 6% found Ralph Nadar charming. The survey also found that George W. Bush is more romantic than the other candidates. 51% of singles surveyed view George W. Bush as more romantic than John Kerry, who received 43% of the votes and Ralph Nadar who received 6%. “It’s Just Lunch has been studying the trends of single professionals throughout the country for over a decade,” said Andrea McGinty, It’s Just Lunch founder. “When it comes to singles and politics, the sexes agree—60% of women and 64% of men don’t talk about politics on a first date.” Although 62% of singles think Barbara and Jenna Bush are a better looking duo than Alexandra and Vanessa Kerry, who received just over 1/3 of the votes, only 8% think Barbara Bush would be the most fun date, compared to her sister Jenna, who received 34%. Alexandra and Vanessa both received only 5% and nearly half of singles think neither of the “first kids” would be the most fun to go on a date with. 80% of singles believe that a presidential candidate’s physical attractiveness increases the chance of being elected. Perhaps next election, Arnold Schwarzenegger should run for President since 34% of singles find him to be the most attractive. 19% said President George W. Bush was the most attractive versus the 5% who believe John Kerry is more attractive. 42% still find Bill Clinton the most attractive among U.S. singles. It was a close call, but 51% of singles would rather take dating advice from First Lady Laura Bush, versus the 49% who would take dating advice from Teresa Heinz Kerry. Singles agree with her old fashioned dating views as 66% of singles believe The First Lady is a strict follower of the “The Rules” of dating. Only 9% believe Teresa Heinz Kerry is a follower of the “The Rules.” About It’s Just Lunch: Since It’s Just Lunch was founded in 1991, the company has arranged thousands of fun, first date lunches or drinks after work—an atmosphere where singles can feel comfortable with the process of meeting a new person.
